ME <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 8, 2002 <br />AWARD BID - FIVE (5) FOUR WHEEL DRIVE PICK-UP TRUCKS WITH PLOWS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on March 25, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Gates Chevy World, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$120,740.00, which is the base bid of $19,894.00 plus $4,254.00 in options. Therefore, Mr. Inks <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. <br />Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) TWO WHEEL DRIVE EXTENDED CAB PICK-UP TRUCK <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on March 25, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to Neal's Dodge, 7115 Calumet Avenue, <br />Hammond, Indiana, in the amount of $20,659.15, which is the base bid of $19,514.15 plus $1,145.00 <br />in options. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid <br />be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) TWO WHEEL DRIVE CAB PICK-UP TRUCK <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on March 25, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to vehicle. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $18,295.00, <br />which is the base bid of $17,190.00 plus $1,105.00 in options. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - BIO-SOLIDS TRUCKING <br />Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, advised the Board that on March 25, 2002, bids <br />were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Dillon <br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive bidder, JDS <br />Trucking, Inc., 19039 Glendale Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $59.00 per hour <br />Monday through Friday and $68.00 per hour on Saturday. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that <br />the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS ONE (1) MORE <br />OR LESS, 2002 SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCK WITH SNOW EQUIPMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director of Central Services, requested permission <br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment for the Sewer Department. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS CHAPIN STREET <br />IMPROVEMENTS/TITLE SHEET - PROJECT NO. 102-002 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. David Koppana, Engineering, requested permission to advertise <br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. In addition, the Title Sheet for this project <br />was submitted for approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks <br />and carried, the Title Sheet and request to advertise for the receipt of bids were approved <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - PALAIS ROYALE RESTORATION - CASTEEL <br />CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO 101-051 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order <br />No. 1 on behalf of Casteel Construction Company, 23186 West Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana <br />indicating that the Contract amount be increased $25,492.00 for a new Contract sum including this <br />Change Order in the amount of $5,991,492.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. <br />Littrell and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />
