<br />PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION
<br />The following agenda items were approved, tabled, denied or discussed at the Public Agenda Session
<br />held on Thursday, February 7, 2002.
<br />The public agenda session of the Board of Public Works was convened at 8:03 a.m. on Thursday,
<br />February 7, 2002, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Mr. Donald E. Inks
<br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
<br />ADD AGENDA ITEMS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following items were
<br />added to the agenda:
<br />- Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit - Wayne/Western Street Improvements
<br />- Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit - Portage Avenue Improvements
<br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the minutes of the regular
<br />meeting of the Board held on January 28, 2002, and the Special Meeting held on February 1, 2002,
<br />were approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ROBERT BOSCH
<br />FACILITIES UPGRADE - PHASE II - PROJECT NO. 102-12
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will
<br />construct the next phase of remodeling the former Bendix Corporation headquarters for use by the
<br />Robert Bosch Corporation. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell
<br />and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - FILTER PRESS
<br />RENOVATION - SOUTH BEND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT - PROJECT NO. 102-

<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Robert Toppel, Environmental Service, requested permission
<br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Therefore, upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - PAINT -
<br />INTERIOR/EXTERIOR/TRAFFIC
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. George Zana, Central Purchasing, requested permission to
<br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to items. Therefore, upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was
<br />approved, subject to reviewing a "friendlier" version of the mineral spirits and toluene which are
<br />included in the bid specifications.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - THIRTY (301
<br />MORE OR LESS, ELECTRIC GOLF CARTS
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Equipment Services, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Therefore, upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids was approved.
<br />AWARD EMERGENCY QUOTATION - PALAIS ROYALE ASBESTOS ABATEMENT -
<br />PROJECT NO. 101-051
<br />Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, advised the Board that on January 29, 2002, quotations
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Villa
