0272 REGULAR MEETING JULY 28. 2003 APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - MCPHERSON FROM THOMAS TO ALLEY - REUNION Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Doris McGee, 1103 West Thomas, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 2 and 3, 2003, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WENGER FROM FELLOWS TO HIGH - "FUN FAIR" PICNIC Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Henry Turner, Macedonia Church, 1862 North Olive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 9, 2003, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - ALTGELD FROM ST. JOSEPH TO CARROLL - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Gordon Tyler, 225 Altgeld, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 23, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HANEY FROM COLUMBIA TO FELLOWS - WEDDING RECEPTION Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Charles Flenoy, 414 East Haney, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 16, 2003, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HURON FROM HARRIS TO WALNUT - BIRTHDAY PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Maria Garcia, 458 Harris, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 2, 2003, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WALK - NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME - RIVER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Dennis Whittaker, 2625 Northside Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to walk August 5, 2003, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO USE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - WATER WORKS WELL SITE ON SHANANDOAH DRIVE IN CARRIAGE HILLS - CARRIAGE HILLS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Bob Kartman, Carriage Hills Neighborhood Association, 17662 Cobblestone Court, South Bend, Indiana, to hold the neighborhood family event on the above referred to property on August 9, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
