<br />proposed annexation.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
<br />Section I. It is in the best interest of the City of South Bend and the area proposed to be
<br />annexed that the real property located in Gerinan Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, described
<br />at Table 2 on page 13 of Exhibit "A" (The Fiscal Plan) attached hereto and made a part hereof, be
<br />annexed to the City of South Bend.
<br />Section II. It shall be and hereby is now declared and established that it is the policy of the
<br />City of South Bend, by and through its Board of Public Works, to furnish to said territory police and
<br />fire services within one (1) year of the effective date of annexation in a manner equivalent in
<br />standard and scope to similar services furnished by the City to other areas regardless of similar
<br />topography, patterns of land use, or population density and in a manner consistent with federal, state
<br />and local laws, procedures, and planning criteria.
<br />Section III. The Board of Public Works shall and does hereby now establish and adopt the Fiscal
<br />Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof, most particularly those provisions
<br />pertaining to police and fire protection at pages 6 and 7 of Exhibit "A", for the furnishing of said
<br />services to the territory to be annexed.
<br />Adopted the 28" day of July, 2003.

<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FREMONT FROM
<br />MARQUETTE TO HAMILTON - BACK TO SCHOOL FEST
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Jerry Price,
<br />1609 North Brookfield, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 1
<br />and 2, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 33RD STREET FROM
<br />MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO WALL STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Katherine
<br />Murray -Emmons, 826 South 33d Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party on August 8, 2003, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded
<br />by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - ST. LOUIS FROM ST.
<br />VINCENT TO NAPOLEON - CHURCH FUN FAIR - GREATER HOLY TEMPLE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Starla Ross,
<br />Greater Holy Temple, 710 East Napoleon, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to
<br />event on August 9, 2003, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded
<br />by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
