<br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be awarded

<br />AWARD BID - SEVEN (7) MID SIZE PRE -OWNED AUTOMOBILES
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 28, 2003,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $68,600.00.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded
<br />as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - SIX (6) COMPACT PRE -OWNED AUTOMOBILES
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 28, 2003,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $52,200.00.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded
<br />as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) ALL WHEEL DRIVE CARGO VAN
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 28, 2003,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$19,275.00,which is the base bid of $19,055.00, and options in the amount of $220.00. Therefore,
<br />Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined
<br />above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) 3/4 TON TWO WHEEL DRIVE PICK-UP TRUCKS
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 28, 2003,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$33,378.00,which is the base bid of $15,546.00, and $1,143.00 in options. Therefore, Mr. Littrell
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr.
<br />Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) ALL WHEEL DRIVE PASSENGER VAN
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 28, 2003,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $19,578.00,
<br />which is the base bid of $20,333.00, a trade-in of $1,000.00, and options in the amount of $245.00.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded
<br />as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID/APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT/APPROVE CHANGE ORDER -
<br />MIAMI STREET CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 103-001
<br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineer, advised the Board that on April 14, 2003, bids were received and opened
<br />for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Gilot recommends that the Board
<br />award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, Rieth Riley Construction, 25200
<br />State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $322,362.00. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a
<br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot
<br />seconded the motion which carried. Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on
<br />May 12, 2003, to Rieth Riley Construction, in the amount of $322,362.00 for the above referred to
<br />project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate
<br />Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted
<br />were filed. Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, has submitted Change Order No. 1
