<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - EWING AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION - PRAIRIE TO
<br />MICHIGAN STREET - KEN HERCEG & ASSOCIATES - PROJECT NO. 103-036
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />Ken Herceg & Associates, 211 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana, for the above referred to
<br />project. Mr. Gilot noted that the Agreement is in the amount of $293,600.00 for Phase I only.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Agreement
<br />was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL - ACQUISITION APPRAISAL FOR INDIANA AUTO PARTS R.E. PITTS & ASSOCIATES, INC.
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Proposal between the City of South Bend and R.E.
<br />Pitts and Associates, 50580 Woodbury Way, Granger, Indiana, for the above referred to project. Mr.
<br />Gilot noted that the Proposal is in the amount not to exceed $3,500.00. Therefore, upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the Proposal was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL - PROPERTY ACQUISITION APPRAISAL - INDIANA AUTO
<br />PARTS - JEROME E. MICHAELS MAI
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />Jerome E. Michaels, MAI, 116 South St. Louis Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, for the above
<br />referred to project. Mr. Gilot noted that the Agreement is in the amount not to exceed $4,800.00.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the Agreement
<br />was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO EXTEND BID AWARD - INTERIOR/EXTERIOR PAINT
<br />PRICES - SHERWIN WILLIAMS
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. George Zana, Purchasing, stated that Sherwin Williams was
<br />awarded the interior/exterior portion of the 2002 paint bids (Items 2 through 11). The volume was
<br />440 gallons at a value of $3,730.00, for items 2 through 11. They have contacted the City and
<br />proposed to supply the paint at the same price and conditions as the 2002 award. Mr. Zana
<br />recommended approving the 2002 bid extension of the interior/exterior paint, items 2 through 11 of
<br />the bid award. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request
<br />to extend interior/exterior paint prices from 2002 through 2003 was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR SIGNAGE - FOUR (4) CITY OF SOUTH BEND PARKING
<br />GARAGES
<br />Mr. Tim Williams, Community and Economic Development, requested approval of signage to be
<br />placed in the City of South Bend's four (4) garages. These signs will establish uniformity and
<br />emphasize the City's no trespassing policy. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the request for signage was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WAYNE STREET FROM ST.
<br />JOSEPH TO MICHIGAN - "WORLD'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE"
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Sue Brunty,
<br />Park Department, South Bend, Indiana, to close Wayne Street in conjunction with the "World's
<br />Largest Garage Sale" on June 7, 2003. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CHANGE TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS TO "NO
<br />PARKING" - 2003 CABIN DAYS - CENTER FOR HISTORY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Travis
<br />Childs, Center for History, 808 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana, to change parking
<br />restrictions on Bartlett between Riverside and Michigan (north side) in conjunction with 2003 Cabin
<br />Days, on May 8, 9, 10, 12, 13 and 14, 2003. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr.
<br />Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
