,A09 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 14, 2003 APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT "TAKE BACK THE NIGHT" MARCH - MADISON CENTER Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Andrea Popielski, Madison Center, 403 East Madison, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to march on April 24, 2003, from 6:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following license application was approved: P&B Parking Company 420 West Washington Street The above licence application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. It was noted that the required Proof of Insurance as well as the hours and rates to be charged was attached to the application. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" MARCH Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Paula Morton, 26632 West Edison Road, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to march, on April 19, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - SYCAMORE FROM LASALLE TO COLFAX - DIABETES RESEARCH FUND RAISER Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Jim Hertel, 219 Sycamore Street, South Bend, Indiana, to close Sycamore from LaSalle to Colfax in conjunction with their event to be held on June 14, 2003, until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT C1NCO DE MAYO PARADE Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Jesusa Rodriguez, Post Office Box 8042, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to parade, on May 3, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT ANNUAL CROP WALK FOR HUNGER Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Carol Mayernich, United Religious Community, 2015 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 28, 2003, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - NORTH ST. PETER FROM COLFAX TO WASHINGTON STREET - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Jason Colettis, 819 East Washington, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on April 26, 2003, until 9:00 p.m..
