~~ <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION JANUARY 10.2007 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in Executive Session on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 8:30 <br />a.m. The meeting was held in the Mayor's Conference Room, 14`h Floor, County City Building, <br />South Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b) (2) (B) and (b) (6) (A). <br />President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Donald Alford, Bruce J. <br />BonDurant and Patrick Cottrell were present. Also present were Board Attorney Thomas <br />Bodnar, Police Chief Thomas Fautz, and Fire Chief Luther Taylor. Board members did not <br />discuss any subject matter other than the subject matter as specified in the Public Notice. BonDurant, Member <br />JANUARY 10.2007 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, <br />2007, with President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Donald Alford, <br />Bruce J. BonDurant and Patrick D. Cottrell present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas <br />Fautz, Fire Chief Luther Taylor and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`h Floor, County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />President Rodriguez made a motion that the minutes of the Public Agenda Session, Executive <br />Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on December 20, 2006 be accepted, with the <br />noted corrections, if there were no objections by members of the Board. Mr. BonDurant <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE VOLUNTARY REQUEST FOR DEMOTION BATTALION <br />CHIEF GREG METZGER <br />Chief Taylor submitted a letter recommending that the Board accept the voluntary demotion <br />request of Battalion Chief Greg Metzger from Battalion Chief in the Bureau of Special <br />Operations to a Captain in Fire Suppression. Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by <br />Ms. Dempsey and carried, the request for demotion was accepted and approved. <br />ACCEPT REQUEST FOR PROMOTION -CAPTAIN MIKE DAMIANO <br />Chief Taylor submitted a letter recommending the promotion of Captain Mike Damiano to <br />Battalion Chief. In his letter Chief Taylor stated that Captain Damiano is well respected by his <br />coworkers and comes highly recommended by his Chief. Captain Damiano is involved with <br />Swiftwater Rescue as a Diver, member of the Hazmat Team and an Instructor for the Indiana <br />1 <br />i <br />1 <br />
