~~ EXECUTIVE SESSION SEPTEMBER 6.2006 The Board of Public Safety met in Executive Session on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 8:42 a.m. The meeting was held in the Mayor's Conference Room, 14`h Floor, County City Building, South Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b) (2) (B) and (b) (6) (A). President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Donald Alford, Bruce J. BonDurant and Patrick Cottrell were present. Also present were Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar, Police Chief Thomas Fautz, and Fire Chief Luther Taylor. Board members did not discuss any subject matter other than the subject matter as specified in the Public Notice. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m. BOARD OF PUB Jes Ro riguez, President Donald L. BonDurant, Member SEPTEMBER 6.2006 The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, with President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Donald Alford, Bruce J. BonDurant and Patrick D. Cottrell present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas Fautz, Fire Chief Luther Taylor and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`h Floor, County City Building, South Bend, Indiana. ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Mr. BonDurant made a motion that the minutes of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on August 16, 2006, along with a Special Meeting of July 14, 2006 be accepted, with the noted corrections. Mr. Alford seconded the motion which carried. FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCEPT AND APPROVE FINDINGS OF FACT -CHARGE 06-06 -BRIAN BARTLETT The Findings of Fact in the matter of Charge 06-06 against Brian Bartlett was submitted to the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, the Board found that Engineer Brian Bartlett be suspended for a period of twenty (20) consecutive eight (8) hour calendar days without pay and be demoted to the rank of First Class Firefighter for a period of six (6) months, such suspension and demotion to begin on the 6`h day of September 2006. Mr. BonDurant seconded the motion which carried. r 1 ^ FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORT - J1JLY 2006 Chief Luther Taylor submitted to the Board the monthly report for t}ie month of July 2006 complied by the Prevention/Inspection Bureau of the Fire Department.
