REGULAR MEETING JUKE 14 2016 208 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Relos, seconded by Ms. Maradik and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicapped Accessible Parking Space Signs <br />LOCATION: a) 220 Hammond Place <br />b) 1138 North Elmer <br />c) 1409 West Western Avenue <br />d) 1162 East Indiana <br />REMARKS: All criteria has been met. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Mr. Relos and carried, the following traffic <br />control device was denied: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicapped Accessible Parking Space Sign <br />LOCATION: 1749 S. Vernon Street <br />REMARKS: Recommend Denial; Property has Good Access with <br />Driveway <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Relos, seconded by Mr. Mueller and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Do Not Enter (2); One Way (4) <br />LOCATION: 1500 and 1600 Blocks of the Business Alleys South of <br />Mishawaka Avenue <br />REMARKS: Recommend 1500 Block of Alley to be Designated One <br />Way West and the 1600 Block of Alley to be Designated <br />One -Way East <br />Ms. Pam Claeys, River Park West Neighborhood, asked how enforcement happens on these new <br />signs. Mr. Gilot suggested it would be good to send letters to all affected neighbors and noted the <br />City depends on the public to follow traffic laws. He added the Police Department has bigger <br />issues to deal with and probably wouldn't consider monitoring this a top priority, especially <br />without staff to cover it.
