Luecke, Mayor of South Bend <br /> <br />Councilmember LaFountain, Chairperson, Personnel and Finance Committee reported <br />that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it <br />to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> <br />Council President Dieter made the formal presentation for this bill. He noted that the <br />Council had the opportunity to discuss ideas with regard to strategy during their <br />Executive Session. He noted that he believes that all ideas and concerns were properly <br />addressed. <br /> <br />Councilmember White advised that she as Chairperson of the Health & Public Safety <br />Committee would like to see parameters defined and continued discussion on the on <br />going negotiations between the Police Departments and Fire Departments. She stated that <br />there needs to be clear direction this year to the City’s Agent and to those who will be <br />selected by the Council President to be a part of an advisory negotiating team. She stated <br />that the Council and Administration are very much aware that monies are limited due to <br />HEA 1001. <br /> <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this Resolution, Councilmember Varner made a motion to adopt this <br />Resolution.
