REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1957 <br />Our investigation has revealed that the frame dwelling at that location is presently being used for storage purposes, <br />in violation of Ordinance No. 3702, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend. More <br />specifically, the subject property is located in a "B" Residential use district and storage is a use expressly pro- <br />hibited therein. <br />Consequently, we must hereby order that use of the subject property for storage purposes cease and desist immediately. <br />Yours very truly, <br />VERNER L. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />A report was read from the Police Department stating that officers had been assigned the duty of checking Olive <br />Street from Western to Sample for semi - trucks who were violating the Ordinance. <br />Councilman Erler moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />REPORT OF TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee'on Transportation has examined the contents of the proposed Resolution with reference to the use of <br />Olive Street between Sample and Western as an intra -city common carrier truck route and the Committee finds the <br />Resolution unacceptable and not recommended for passage. Their finding is based on the fact that they believe the <br />conditions of the resolution to be discriminatory. <br />/s/ Joseph T. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the granting of the petiton would result in spot zoning and <br />would therefore be illegal. <br />
