<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR 1957 AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.

<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and before the Second reading was given, and after some discussion,
<br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee for further study and for
<br />a report on February 11, 1957. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF ROBINHOOD COURT,,from MICHIGAN STREET (U.-S. HIGHWAY
<br />NO. 31) EAST TO BARBIE STREET, TO BARBIE STREET
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Carr made a motion for suspen-
<br />sion of rules. Councilman Christman seconded the motion. The motion was lost by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 1 nay
<br />(Councilman Muszynski), l absent (Councilman Hahn). Councilman Carr then made a motion for public hearing on February
<br />11, 1957, on said Ordinance. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />OLD BUSINESS
<br />Don Illes, President of the Youth Council gave a report of their activities. He stated that they had a March of Dimes
<br />Dance at Playland Park and gave $470.35 to the Foundation. They presented a Trophy to the John Adams High School
<br />Conference Champions. They are working on a Stage show to be given in February or March. Councilman Glass made a
<br />motion to extend an invitation to the Youth Council to attend the February 11th, 1957, meeting of the Council. Council,-
<br />man Muszynski seconded the motion,. Motion carried. Mr. Ralph Newman, Park Department invited the Youth Council to
<br />attend the next meeting of the Park Board to be held February 5th, 1957 at 7:30 P.M. in the Building in Howard Park.
<br />NEW BUSINESS
<br />Relative to the communication from Mrs. Levy regarding a Policewoman at Colfax and Ironwood Drive, it was suggested by
<br />Mr. Tellson that 15 Miles Per Hour signs be posted in that area. Councilman Erler suggested 4 way stop signs at the
<br />intersection. After some discussion it was decided to ask Mr. Miller, the Traffic Engineer, to be present at the
<br />meeting of the Council on February 11th, 1957, to discuss traffic problems and re- routing of trucks. Councilman Glass
<br />informed the Council that the Truckers Association is making a film showing traffic conditions in various parts of the
<br />City. It was suggested that the Truckers Association be contacted relative to obtaining the film to be shown at the
<br />February 11th, 1957, meeting of the Council.
<br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Carr made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Christman
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Council meeting adjourned at 9:28 P.M.
