REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bond <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of W. C. Gammons for change of zoning of Lots No. 17, 18 and 19 in the proposed plat of Sunnyside Land <br />Co's Addition, an unrecorded plat known as Jefferson Manor, was given legal notice under date of December 24, 1953 <br />and public hearing under date of January 7, 1954. These lots are on the south side of Jefferson Blvd* on both <br />the east and west sides of Ironwood Drive and include the west half of the vacated 22nd Street. <br />This change is not recommended for the following reasons as transcribed from the Planning Commission minutes <br />under date of.. January 28, 1954: <br />1. This change would be an unwarranted intrusion into residential area. <br />2. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />Tos Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />Gentlemens <br />Petition of Joseph S. Vance, 2109 Elwood Avenue, et al, being petition to rezone Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 50 6, 270 48 <br />and 49 of Elwood Park Addition; and Lots 1, 2, 3 of Huey Heights Second Addition, Lots 26, 27 and 28 proposed; <br />Lots 4 through 12 inclusive of Elwood Avenue Addition, and more particularly located for this purpose on Elwood <br />Avenue between Johnson and Huey from C commercial and D height and area district to residential use and resident <br />height and area district. This petition was given public hearing under date of December 3, 1955s and petition <br />is recommended by amending same as follows:. <br />Lots 4 through 9 inclusive and 11 through 12 inclusive of Elwood <br />Avenue Addition and Lots 1 through 6 and 47 through 49 inclusive of <br />Elwood Park Addition from C commercial and D height and area district <br />to A residential and A height and area district. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Robert L. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3961 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF S WTH BEND, INDIANA. . <br />(Elwood Ave. between Johnson and Huey Sts.) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion <br />for suspension of rules. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - <br />0 nays. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />09T "OF` CITYIPLAX COMMON <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Submitted herewith is an ordinance to amend the district map of the South Bend zoning ordinance from A use and <br />A height and area to E use and E height and area in the area at Lincoln Way West and Bendix Drive, which ordinance <br />was originated by the Planning Commission and which ordinance honors, in effect, the recommendation of the Council <br />regarding such light industrial district as opposted to an original petition recommending heavy industrial for a <br />part of said area. Councilman Glass seconded the <br />motion* Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 ADOPTED JUNE 13, 19490 <br />AND COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Korpal made a motion that <br />the ordinance be referred to a special oo�mittee, namely, Councilmen Niezgodski, Glass, Pinter and Bestle, and <br />the Councilman in that district serve as chairman of the committee and report back to the next regular Council <br />meeting on March 8th. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
