<br />INDICATED ACCOUNT OF THE 1948 BUDGETS STREET DEPARTMENT, S -331, GASOLINE, 
<br />$5,000.00, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. 
<br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays.

<br />ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2331 (AS AMENDED) - COMMONLY 
<br />ICNm AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. 
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Erler made a motion s 
<br />for uspension of rules. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes 
<br />0 nays. 
<br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays. 
<br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS TO 
<br />BE MADE TO SALARIED CITY EMPLOYEES, 
<br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, is approaching the close of its fiscal year, and, 
<br />WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous 
<br />and complicated accounts; and, 
<br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified when possible; now, 
<br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common-Counoil of the City of South.Bend, Indiana: 
<br />Section 1. That all salaried officers and employees of the City shall be paid their salaries for the 
<br />month of ec b er, 1948, on the 20th day of said month. 
<br />Section 2. The Controller of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to make said salary payments 
<br />upon said *date. 
<br />Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common 
<br />Council and approval by the Mayor.

<br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the resolution be adopted. Councilman Eder seconded the motion.

<br />RESOLUTION 
<br />WHEREAS, on August 23rd, 1948, a petition has been submitted to the City Council and is now in the hands of 
<br />the Planning Commission for consideration for rezoning a parcel of unplatted land Bast of Twyckenham Drive 
<br />extending several hundred feet beyond Greenlawn Avenue and fronting on the St. Joseph River and adjacent 
<br />to North Side Boulevard which extends from South Bend to Mishawaka; and, 
<br />WHEREAS, this land was known as Island Park and used by many as a park although never dedicated as a park; 
<br />and, 
<br />WHEREAS. this land has a virgin stand of timber and is one of the last remaining beauty spots in the City 
<br />fronting on the St. Joseph River; 
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION THAT: 
<br />Before rezoning this unplatted parcel of land for private use every, consideration be given this land for 
<br />park purposes, and a copy of this resolution be presented to the Park Board, Mayor, and the City Council.

<br />RESOLUTION 
<br />WHEREAS, in the Budget of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1948, it was anticipated that the 
<br />amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars($20,000.00) would be transferred from the City Water Works of said City 
<br />to the General Fund of said City, and 
<br />WHEREAS, in the Budget, as finally passed and approved, such item was included and anticipated; 
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that*
