If the ordinance was enacted, signs erected and it were practical for the police department to enforce the regula-
tions on the streets mentioned in this petition, soon other petitions would be presented requesting similar regula-
lations on many other streets in the city where conditions are practically identical.
Obviously if this request is granted in this particular case, then similar requests will also have to be granted.
This type of regulation merely drives the all -day parkers from one street to another, which brings about similar
requests, from residents on the other streets.
The only possible solution in this particular case is for the Bendix Aviation Corporation to provide adequate off -
street parking facilities and encourage employees to use the parking space provided.
As to automobiles on these streets blocking private drives and alleys, this practice can be successfully discouraged
by proper enforcement of the existing law which prohibits same.
EHM:MB
Respectfully submitted,
ERNEST H. MILLER
City Traffic Engineer
Councilman Hull made a motion that the petition be referred to the Committee of the Whole for further investigation.
Councilman Brannon seconded the motion.
