REGULAR MEETING October 11 1965 PETITIION ( Continued) Wherfore, in view of the unsuitability of the above described real estate for single family residence use, and the desireability of establishing uses for the above described real estate compatatible with the existing residential use already established to the North and the West of the tract and the commercial uses already established to the South and the East of the tract, your petitioners respect- fully ask the Common Council that after referral and hearing, the Zoning Ordinances and Municipal Code of South Bend may be altered and amended to rezone the subject real estate as petitioned; a buffer zone portion thereof to B residential, and the remaining portion thereof to C - Commercial. REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE ANNEXTING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Location: 159 acres, more or less bounded on the North by the present city limits, on the East by Ironwood Rd., an the West by the east line of Crest Manor Sub. Sec. 3, and on the South by the half section line of Section 31. Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable. /s/ -Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman Councilman Geib made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried.
