REGULAR MENTIN JUNE 14 lynx <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />June 14, 1965 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, AS AMENDED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHANGING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN LAND SITUATED WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FROM "A" RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ".' (Location: Property at 2104 <br />Edison Road (total of 3 lots). These lots are the first three lots immediately west of the "Capri" Restaurant). <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. <br />:/s/ Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman <br />Councilman Smith made a motion that the reports be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />June 7, 1965 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to rezone from "D" Light Industrial Use and "B" Residential! <br />Use and F & A Height and Area District to A Residential Use and A �� Height and Area District the property <br />generally being bounded on the East by McPherson Street, on the West by Walnut Street, on the North by,the South <br />Bend, St. Joseph and Southern Railroad and on the south by Indiana Avenue was legally advertised under date of <br />May 24, 1965 and given public hearing on June 3, 1965. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that of an <br />apparent 81 lots, 76 appear to be used residentially (72 <br />for single family dwellings, 2 for apartment buildings <br />and two residential - commercial uses). The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the <br />predominant use in the subject area is single family <br />residential and that the proposed zoning would be in <br />the best interest of the subject area.
