REGULAR MENTIN JUNE 14 lynx REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: June 14, 1965 Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS AMENDED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHANGING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN LAND SITUATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FROM "A" RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ".' (Location: Property at 2104 Edison Road (total of 3 lots). These lots are the first three lots immediately west of the "Capri" Restaurant). Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable. :/s/ Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman Councilman Smith made a motion that the reports be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION June 7, 1965 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to rezone from "D" Light Industrial Use and "B" Residential! Use and F & A Height and Area District to A Residential Use and A �� Height and Area District the property generally being bounded on the East by McPherson Street, on the West by Walnut Street, on the North by,the South Bend, St. Joseph and Southern Railroad and on the south by Indiana Avenue was legally advertised under date of May 24, 1965 and given public hearing on June 3, 1965. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that of an apparent 81 lots, 76 appear to be used residentially (72 for single family dwellings, 2 for apartment buildings and two residential - commercial uses). It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanmou`s�y carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L. REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION June 7, 1965 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to rezone from "C" Commercial Use and "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District the property generally being bounded on the East by Arnold Street, on the West by Swygart Avenue, on the North by Indiana Avenue and on the South by the rear lot line of lots fronting on Prairie Avenue was legally advertised under date of May 24, 1965 and given public hdaring on June 3, 1965. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the predominant use in the subject area is single family residential and that the proposed zoning would be in the best interest of the subject area.
