REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 14, 1964 RESOLUTION NO. 87 - -64 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND MIDLAND ENGINEERING COMPANY, INC., FOR ROOFING AND FLASHING REPAIRS TO THE 6,000,000 GALLON CONCRETE RESERVOIR AT THE NORTH PUMPING STATION. WHEREAS, damage has been incurred to the roof of the water reservoir at the North Pumping Station which damage is -a potential source of danger to the water contained therein, and which roof requires repair at the earliest possible time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, That the Contract entered into between the South Bend City Water Works and the Midland Engineering Company, Inc., on the 30th day of November, 1964 for roofing and flashing repair work to be done on the 6,000,000 gallon concrete reservoir at the North Pumping Station in the sum of Two thousand one - hundred eighty ($2,180.00) Dollars is hereby approved and confirmed. /s/ Walter M. Szymkowiak Member of the Common Council Councilman Geib made a motion for the adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8'ayes - 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski). RESOLUTION NO. 88 - -64 RESOLUTION FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE MEDICAL, SURGICAL AND DENTAL ACCOUNT, IN THE AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.00) AND IN THE TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH ACCOUNT, IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($75.00) AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM THE RADIO PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT ACCOUNT IN THE SAME CATEGORY OF THE STREET DEPARTMENT, ALL BEING IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND. WHEREAS,_Certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget, so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary contingencies; and, WHEREAS, Additional funds are urgently needed by the Street Department to assure its ability to properly pay current telephone expenses and the sum of Seventy -five Dollars ($75.00) is needed forthwith and additional funds are urgently needed by the Street Department to assure its ability to meet current medical, dental, and surgical expenses and the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) is needed forthwith; and WHEREAS, A surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed at this time and more specifically as follows, to wit: 1. Three Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars ($375.00) in account S252B, designated as Radio Preventive Maintenance Contract. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, That the sum of Seventy -Five Dollars {$75.00) be transferred to account S261 designated as Medical, Surgical and Dental, by transferring said funds from the following account, to -wit: 2. Three Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars ($375.00) from account S252B, all of said accounts being in the same cagetory, to -wit: Services Contractual of the Street Department and all being in the street and traffic fund. /s/ John L. RESOLUTION NO. 89 - -64 RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROVING GENERAL NEIGHBORHOOD RENEWAL PLAN WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment (herein called the "Local Public Agency ") has entered into a contract, designated Contract No. Ind. R -41 (GN)(A) with the Federal Government pursuant to which the Government has made available to the Local Public Agency financial assistance for the preparation of a General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for the Urban renewal area designated as the LaSalle Park Area in the City of South Bend, State of Indiana (herein called the "Locality "); and WHEREAS the Local Public Agency proposes to undertake with Federal financial assistance one or more urban renewal projects in the above- described urban renewal area; and WHEREAS there has been prepared and referred to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana (herein called the "Governing Body ") for review and approval a General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for the urban renewal area, dated August 14, 1964, entitled "General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for the LaSalle Park Area" and consisting of 18 pages and 9 exhibits; and WHEREAS said General Neighborhood Renewal Plan has been approved by the governing body of the Local Public Agency, as evidenced by the copy of said body's duly certified resolution approving said General Neighborhood Renewal Plan which is attached thereto; and WHEREAS there have also been presented to the Governing Body certain supplementary data, including data respecting estimated grant -in -aid requirements, relocation requirements and resources, and governmental actions required to carry out said General Neighborhood Renewal Plan; and (Continued)
