REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 14, 1964 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87 - -64 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND <br />CITY WATER WORKS AND MIDLAND ENGINEERING COMPANY, INC., <br />FOR ROOFING AND FLASHING REPAIRS TO THE 6,000,000 GALLON <br />CONCRETE RESERVOIR AT THE NORTH PUMPING STATION. <br />WHEREAS, damage has been incurred to the roof of the water reservoir at the North Pumping Station which damage <br />is -a potential source of danger to the water contained therein, and which roof requires repair at the earliest <br />possible time. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, That the Contract entered into <br />between the South Bend City Water Works and the Midland Engineering Company, Inc., on the 30th day of November, <br />1964 for roofing and flashing repair work to be done on the 6,000,000 gallon concrete reservoir at the North <br />Pumping Station in the sum of Two thousand one - hundred eighty ($2,180.00) Dollars is hereby approved and confirmed. <br />/s/ Walter M. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8'ayes - 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski). <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 - -64 <br />RESOLUTION FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE MEDICAL, <br />SURGICAL AND DENTAL ACCOUNT, IN THE AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED <br />DOLLARS ($300.00) AND IN THE TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH ACCOUNT, <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($75.00) AND THE TRANSFER <br />OF THE SAME FROM THE RADIO PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT <br />ACCOUNT IN THE SAME CATEGORY OF THE STREET DEPARTMENT, ALL <br />BEING IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND. <br />WHEREAS,_Certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget, so <br />that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various <br />functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary contingencies; and, <br />WHEREAS, Additional funds are urgently needed by the Street Department to assure its ability to properly pay <br />current telephone expenses and the sum of Seventy -five Dollars ($75.00) is needed forthwith and additional funds <br />are urgently needed by the Street Department to assure its ability to meet current medical, dental, and surgical <br />expenses and the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) is needed forthwith; and <br />WHEREAS, A surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed at this time and more specifically <br />as follows, to wit: <br />1. Three Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars ($375.00) in account S252B, <br />designated as Radio Preventive Maintenance Contract. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, That the sum of Seventy -Five Dollars <br />{$75.00) be transferred to account S261 designated as Medical, Surgical and Dental, by transferring said funds from <br />the following account, to -wit: <br />2. Three Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars ($375.00) from account S252B, <br />all of said accounts being in the same cagetory, to -wit: Services <br />Contractual of the Street Department and all being in the street and <br />traffic fund. <br />/s/ John L. Motion <br />carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski). <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89 - -64 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />APPROVING GENERAL NEIGHBORHOOD RENEWAL PLAN <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, the City of South Bend <br />Department of Redevelopment (herein called the "Local Public Agency ") has entered into a contract, designated <br />Contract No. Ind. R -41 (GN)(A) with the Federal Government pursuant to which the Government has made available <br />to the Local Public Agency financial assistance for the preparation of a General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for <br />the Urban renewal area designated as the LaSalle Park Area in the City of South Bend, State of Indiana (herein <br />called the "Locality "); and <br />WHEREAS the Local Public Agency proposes to undertake with Federal financial assistance one or more urban renewal <br />projects in the above- described urban renewal area; and <br />WHEREAS there has been prepared and referred to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana (herein called <br />the "Governing Body ") for review and approval a General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for the urban renewal area, dated <br />August 14, 1964, entitled "General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for the LaSalle Park Area" and consisting of 18 pages <br />and 9 exhibits; and <br />WHEREAS said General Neighborhood Renewal Plan has been approved by the governing body of the Local Public Agency, <br />as evidenced by the copy of said body's duly certified resolution approving said General Neighborhood Renewal Plan <br />which is attached thereto; and <br />WHEREAS there have also been presented to the Governing Body certain supplementary data, including data respecting <br />estimated grant -in -aid requirements, relocation requirements and resources, and governmental actions required to <br />carry out said General Neighborhood Renewal Plan; and <br />(Continued) <br />
