121V <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 9, 1964 <br />RESOLUTION NO. $4­64 (Continued) <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, that the <br />sum of One- hundredFifty ($150.00) Dollars be transferred to Account No. XX -322 designated as Supplies, oil, <br />by transferring it from the following account, to -wit: <br />2. One- hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars from Account XX -321, both of <br />said accounts being in the same category, to -wit: Supplies, of <br />the Sanitation Department. <br />/s/ John Wise, <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Councilman Glass made a motion to adopt the Resolution, as amended. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 1 absent (Councilman Wise). <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO STREET SNOW REMOVAL, AND REGULATING <br />TRAFFIC, PARKING AND OTHER CONDUCT DURING PERIODS OF SNOW REMOVAL <br />CONDITIONS, PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF VEHICLES AND PROVIDING <br />FOR PENALTIES, AS AMENDED. <br />Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance be given first and second reading tonight. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion to <br />amend Section 1, Definitions, paragraph 5, that numeral (3) be deleted and "(e)" substituted; also Section 2, <br />General Provisions, paragraph (c), second line of sub- paragraph (1) be amended by deleting the word "emergency" <br />and inserting "removal conditions ". Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Smith made a motion that the ordinance, as amended, be set for public hearing on November 23, 1964. <br />Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Smith suggested that the Mayor inform department heads not to send out Christmas cards with "tax money ", <br />Councilman Szymkowiak suggested that parking be free Monday nights on downtown streets during December for the <br />Christmas season to "give the City a shot in the arm ". <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br />Councilman Glass informed the Council that the Legislative Committee does not have anything to report on the <br />status of the area planning commission. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Smith made a motion to adjourn.
