<br />ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING
<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702
<br />(Indiana Ave., Brookfield St., Calvert St. and Carlisle St.)
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Smith made a motion that
<br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on September 28, 1964. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion.
<br />Motion carried.

<br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO..3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING
<br />ORDINANCE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />(Property at 1845 Prairie Avenue)
<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion that
<br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on August 31, 1964. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />RESOLUTION N0, 74 - -64
<br />RESOLUTION FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE OTHER SUPPLIES
<br />ACCOUNT.OF THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT.IN THE AMOUNT.OF $500.00
<br />AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM THE.GASOLINE ACCOUNT.IN THE
<br />SAME CATEGORY.OF THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT..
<br />WHEREAS, Certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget, so
<br />that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various
<br />functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary contingencies; and,
<br />WHEREAS, rain gear, chemicals, and repair supplies are urgently needed by the Sanitation Department to assure its
<br />ability to properly perform its function and the sum of $500.00 is needed forthwith; and
<br />WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is now presently needed at this time, and more specifically
<br />as follows, to -wit:
<br />1. Five hundred Dollars ($500.00) in Account XX -321 designated as supplies, gasoline.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, That the sum of $500.00 be
<br />transferred to Account No. XX -37 designated as supplies ,.other.supplies.(general), by transferring it from the
<br />following account, to -wit:
<br />2. Five hundred Dollars ($500.00) from Account XX -321, both of said accounts being in the same category,

<br />RESOLUTION N0. 75 - -64
<br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PROGRESS REPORT UNDER THE
<br />WORKABLE PROGRAM FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. .
<br />WHEREAS, a "Review of Progress Under the Workable Program for Community Improvement" was heretofore filed with
<br />the Common Council of the City of South Bend, which report is now before the Common.Council, and
<br />WHEREAS, the approval of the Common Council to said progress report is acquired by the Housing and Home Finance
<br />Agency of the United State of America as a continuing requisite for the City of South Bend's eligibility_to
<br />receive federal funds, and
<br />WHEREAS, the Common Council has examined said report and finds it satisfactory,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, that the report captioned "Review
<br />of Progress Under the Workable Program for Community Improvement" be, and the same is hereby in all things
<br />ratified, approved and confirmed.

<br />The Clerk was instructed to send a letter of congratulation to Judge Philip C. Potts in recognition of the high
<br />degree of performance and commendable work in the function of the City Court of South Bend for the award and
<br />honor received from the American Bar Association.
