Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />February 10, 1964 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN REAL PROPERTY <br />BECAUSE OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, RELIGION, OR ANCESTRY BY CERTAIN OWNERS, SELLERS, RENTERS, LESSORS, <br />GRANTORS, LESSEES, GRANTEES, ASSIGNEES, MANAGING AGENTS, REAL ESTATE BROKERS, REAL ESTATE SALESMEN, LENDERS, <br />AND OTHERS. PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE SOUTH BEND FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE COMMISSION, PRESCRIBING <br />ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND POWERS, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the ordinance go to the Council <br />as unfavorable. <br />Isl Edwin T. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Mrs. Kathryn Blough <br />City of South Bend <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Dear Mrs. Blough: <br />February 6, 1964 <br />Pursuant to the Housing Authorities Act Chapter 207, Acts 1937 as amended which says in part: <br />"At least once a year, an Authority shall file with the Clerk a report of <br />its activities for the proceeding (preceding) year..." <br />we file this report covering the period from January 1, 1963 to December 31, 1963. <br />We hope that the material of this report will be of value to all who are concerned with'the operation of this <br />public service agency. <br />Please feel free to call on the Board or staff for any desired information that you or others may require as to <br />the operation of the Authority. <br />We are grateful for the help that has come from your office as well as that emanating from other City of South <br />departments. Motion carried, The Clerk was instructed to notify Rabbi Albert M. Shulman and Mr. Jesse L. Dickinson <br />to appear at the next meeting of the Council on February 24th to answer questions the Council may have regarding <br />the report. <br />
