REPORT OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />June 19, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of John T. Hartman, et al, to rezone from "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District <br />to "C" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District Lots Numbered 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32, Eckman and <br />Eckman Additiona, more commonly known as the east side of Michigan Street between Oakside and Woodside, was legally <br />advertised under date of May 28, 1962 and given public hearing on June 14, 1962. The followong action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that subject area is being used solely for <br />residential purposes; that there exists in the immediate vicinity ample commercial zoning <br />that is not being used for commercial purposes, and therefore no need exists for additional <br />commercial.zoning;.that commercial zoning of subject property would result in a continuation <br />of strip zoning; and that the best use of the land at the present time is residential. Motion carried. <br />REPORT.OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />June 19, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City.of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached proposed ordinance originated by the City Planning Commission to zone "A" Residential Use and "A" <br />Height and Area District the recently annexed land being generally described as 1.4 acres fronting on the east <br />side of Lilac Road and being 613 feet south of Darden Road was legally advertised under date of May 28, 1962 <br />and given public hearing on June 14, 1962. The followong action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the best zoning for the area in question <br />would be residential. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />June 19, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached proposed ordinance originated by the City Planning Commission to zone "E" Heavy Industrial Use and "A" <br />Height and Area District the recently annexed land being generally described as a triangular parcel of land being <br />vounded on the east by the east right -of -way line of the Pennsylvania Railroad, on the north by a line 200 feet <br />south of Chippewa Avenue, and on the west by a line extended north from the intersection of the east right -of -way <br />line of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the north right -of -way line of Ireland Road was legally advertised under date <br />of May 28, 1962 and given public hearing on June 14, 1962. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the best use for the area in question would be <br />industrial.
