REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL.APPROPRIATIONS IN THE OFFICE OF THE <br />CITY CLERK IN THE AMOUNT OF $750.00, Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their <br />opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. <br />Isl T. Lehman, Chairman <br />November 14, 1960. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4347 - - -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 2 nays (Councilmen Allen and <br />Coleman). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4348 - - -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE OFFICE OF THE <br />CITY CLERK IN THE AMOUNT OF $750.00 <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and it was passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4349 - - -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE AND CONTROL THE SALE AND USE OF PLASTIC <br />COVERINGS OR BAGS <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />To the Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />RE: Your directive of September 13, 1960 <br />Gentlemen: <br />November 14, 1960 <br />Refer: Our Letter Dated <br />September 20, 1960 <br />With further reference to your Directive of September 13, 1960, concerning a Motion made by Councilman Glass, <br />Seconded by Councilman Lehman and duly Carried as to the possibility of procuring a patrol boat for the St. Joseph <br />River in order to discourage speeding on the river, the subject was considered by the Board of Public Works and <br />Safety at its regular meeting of November 14, 1960. <br />A detailed report from Captain John F. Kasprzak who was assigned to make a survey of this suggested patrol by the <br />Chief of Police was submitted to the Board, examined and ordered placed on file. <br />Copy of Captain Kasprzak's Report is attached hereto and a complete file on this St. Joseph River Patrol is on file <br />in the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety for examination of interested persons. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Isl Anthony J. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of June, 1957, the Common Council of the Municipal City of South Bend under Ordinance <br />No. 4168 amended Section 82 of Chapter 29 of General Ordinance 3709, Sub - Section B to read as follows: <br />If the Common Council shall determine that any truck route or access route shall be eliminated, changed, or <br />established, or temporarily modified, it shall enact a resolution or ordinance effecting same, and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend has found it expedient to establish and change certain truck <br />routes for traffic on certain streets in the City of South Bend, and, <br />WHEREAS, it is believed that said changes are for the convenience and benefit of the public. <br />
