Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4335 - - -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE BOARD OF <br />WATERWORKS COMMISSIONERS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND AND CLYDE E. WILLIAMS AND ASSOCIATES <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Ladewski made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, <br />1 absent (Councilman Allen). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, <br />0 nays, 1. absent (Councilman Allen). <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, on the 14th day of August, 1960, FRED LAKE, of the City of South Bend, Indiana, represented the City of <br />South Bend in the Soap Box Derby at Akron, Ohio; and, <br />WHEREAS, because of the tedious preparation in the building of his Soap Box Derby entry, as well as his practice <br />and diligence, the said FRED LAKE w&6 able to be the winner of the first prize of all America in said Soap Box <br />Derby; and, <br />WHEREAS, the achievement of FRED LAKE has brought great renown to FRED LAKE and the City of South Bend; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Administration is most pleased with this achievement and with the notice brought to our City and <br />further pleased that a member of our community has been able to compete successfully in said contest and be the <br />winner. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council and the City Administration express to FRED LAKE its <br />appreciation and best wishes and congratulations for a job well done. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to him and to his family. <br />/s/ <br />JOSEPH T.
