Use District to "C" Commercial Use District was legally advertised on June 25, 1960 and given public hearing under <br />date of July 7, 1960. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would result in a continuation of strip zoning <br />and that it was not in keeping with the general character of the area. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />July 11, 1960 <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of John VanVynckt, et al, to rezone Lots Numbered 79, 80, and 81 in the recorded Plat of <br />Belmont Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana, generally described as the northwest corner of Jefferson <br />Boulevard and 36th Street, from "A" Residential Use to "C -1" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District was <br />legally advertised on June 25, 1960 and given public hearing under date of July 7, 1960. The following action was <br />taken. <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would tend to be an encroachment of commercial <br />use on residential areas and that it was not in keeping with the general character of the existing residential <br />development. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />July 11, 1960 <br />The attached petition of Irene Stanz and the North Side Lumber Company, Inc., to rezone the property generally <br />described as having a 177 foot frontage on Jefferson Boulevard and 148 foot frontage on Thirty- Second Street <br />from "A" Residential Use and "A: Height and Area District to "B" Residential Use and "C" Height and Area District <br />was legally advertised under date of June 25, 1960 and given public hearing on July 7, 1960. The following action <br />was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would result in spot zoning. Voorde, Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as required by Chapter 107 of the Ac <br />of 1959, hereby fix the maximum salaries for the herein named appointed officers and.employees of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, beginning January 1, 1961, and continuing thereafter until ,duly changed, and request that such maxi- <br />mum salaries be approved by the Common Council. <br />/s/ Edward F. Voorde <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Allen seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1961 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the <br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on July 25, 1960. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
