<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Reinke made a motion
<br />the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee. Councilman Grounds seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />(Electrical Ordinance)
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Grounds made a motion
<br />the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />Coundilman Allen objected to the second reading of the Ordinance and to the way the Ordinance was written.
<br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING It is excess verbage which results in the high cost of printing, since
<br />very few changes are-being made.

<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED
<br />OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1969.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion
<br />the Ordinance be referred to the Fees and Salary Committee and brought out of Committee for Public Hearing
<br />July 22, 1968. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />RESOLUTION NO. 191 -68
<br />A RESOLUTION FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
<br />IN ACCOUNT V -726, "OTHER EQUIPMENT" OF THE
<br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT, IN THE AMOUNT OF
<br />$763.88, AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM
<br />ACCOUNT V -722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT ", ALL IN
<br />THE SAME CATEGORY, AND WITHIN THE GENERAL
<br />FUND.
<br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget,
<br />so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the
<br />various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary contingencies; and
<br />WHEREAS, additional funds for a 2 -way radio are urgently needed by the Electrical Department to assure its
<br />ability to properly perform its function and the sum of $763.88 is needed forthwith; and
<br />WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed; and more specifically as
<br />follow, to -wit;
<br />$763.88 in Account V -722 designated as "Motor Equipment"
<br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, that the sum of $763.88 be
<br />transferred from Account V -722 designated as "Motor Equipment ", to Account V -726 designated as "Other
<br />Equipment ", both of said accounts being in the same category "Properties" and being within the General Fund.
