<br />CITIZENS REQUESTS - MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS 
<br />Mrs. Amy Kekko, 206 N. Sunnyside, complained to the Council about snowplows ruining the curb 
<br />and sidewalk in front of her property. Mrs. Kekko was referred to the City Engineer.

<br />In Re: An ordinance initiated by the Area Plan Commission to zone property in 
<br />the area of South Ironwood, Inwood and the Retention Basin now unzoned 
<br />to "A" Residential 
<br />Gentlemen: 
<br />The attached ordinance originated by the Area Plan Commission was legally 
<br />advertised and then given a Public Hearing on June 21, 1972 at which time the 
<br />following action was taken: 
<br />"Upon motion made by Clarence R. Kelly, being seconded by Roger 
<br />Parent and unanimously carried, this proposed ordinance by the 
<br />Area Plan Commission is recommended favorably to the Common Council 
<br />of the City of South Bend ". 
<br />The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points considered.in arriving 
<br />at the above decision are shown in excerpts of the minutes also attached This area 
<br />was annexed by Ordinance No. 5009 -68, Circuit Court Cause No. D -7989.

<br />Councilman Miller made a motion that the ordinance referred to in the report be set for 
<br />public hearing on October 23, 1972, seconded by Councilman Taylor. Motion carried. 
<br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE 
<br />Council President Nemeth entertained a motion to waive the reading of the Committee of the Whole II 
<br />report, so moved by Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Kopczynski and unanimously carried.

<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5437 -72 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REFUSE ORDINANCE OF 
<br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. 
<br />This ordinance had third reading. Councilman Miller made a motion that the ordinance pass as 
<br />amended, seconded by Councilman Kopczynski. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of eight 
<br />ayes (Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath and Newburn). 
<br />one abstention (Councilman Nemeth). 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5438 -72 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A 
<br />LEASE AND TRUST INDENTURE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT 
<br />REVENUE BONDS AND THE FORM AND TERMS OF THE LEASE 
<br />AND TRUST INDENTURE AND BONDS AND THE ISSUANCE OF 
<br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS PERTAINING TO 
<br />C. E. LEE COMPANY, INC. 
<br />This ordinance had third reading. Councilman Parent moved that the ordinance pass, seconded by 
<br />Councilman Taylor. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge, 
<br />Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5439 -72 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A

<br />REVENUE BONDS AND THE FORM AND TERMS OF THE LEASE

<br />INTERNATIONAL BAKERS SERVICES, INC. 
<br />This ordinance had third reading. Councilman Kopczynski made a motion that the ordinance pass, 
<br />seconded by Councilman Horvath. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes 
<br />(Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5440 -72 AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN 
<br />THE AMOUNT OF $4,500.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND AND 
<br />THE TRANSFER OF SAME TO ACCOUNT T -726 "OTHER 
<br />EQUIPMENT" IN THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT BUDGET, SAID 
<br />ACCOUNT BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. 
<br />This ordinance had third reading. Councilman Horvath made a motion that the ordinance pass, 
<br />seconded by Councilman Taylor. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes 
<br />(Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth).
