REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 14, 1980 <br />REGULAR MEETING RECONVENED (CONTINUED) <br />A public hearing was held on the resolution at this time. Mayor Roger 0. Parent, indicated <br />that the previous Council had approved a full -time City Attorney. He indicated the money <br />for this transfer comes from the intern program. Council Member Kopczynski made a motion to <br />adopt this resolution, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The resolution was adopted by a <br />roll call vote of eight ayes. <br />BILLS, FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 1 -80 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (MICHIANA REGIONAL AIRPORT, AND <br />VARIOUS SURROUNDING PROPERTIES.) <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to set this bill for public <br />hearing and second reading January 28, 1980, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILL NO. 2 -80 <br />A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (1031 -1045 E. MINER ST.) <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to refer this bill and petition <br />to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 3 -80 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />(CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (NORTHEAST CORNER OF LINDEN AND <br />CLEMENTS.) <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to refer this bill and petition <br />to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 4 -80 <br />A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />(CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (SOUTHWEST CORNER OF PORTAGE AND <br />THE INDIANA TOLL ROAD RIGHT -OF -WAY.) <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to refer this bill and <br />petition to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Council Member Serge indicated there were many areas in the City strewn with garbage and litter. <br />Loretta Duda, Mayor's Environmental Center, indicated she had sent a memo to the City Attorney <br />requesting the reinstatement of the clean -up crew, with Ed Nowak as Foreman. <br />Reports from Area Plan <br />Historic Landmark - Powell House. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for public <br />hearing and second reading January 28, 1980, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The motion <br />carried. <br />Northeast corner of Edison and State Road 23, Northeast corner of Pleasant and Ironwood. <br />Council Member Kopczynski made a motion to set these bills for public hearing and second reading <br />February 11, 1980, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council Member <br />Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Voorde.
