Council Member Serge made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading July 27, and refer it to the Personnel & Finance <br />Committee, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 69 -81 A BILL APPROPRIATING $31,000.00 FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER <br />BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO PROJECT CS 812, INSTALLATION OF <br />STORM SEWERS ON MICHIGAN STREET FROM COLFAX TO LASALLE, <br />WITHIN THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Voorde made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading July 27, seconded by Council Member Crone. The <br />motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 70 -81 A BILL TRANSFERRING MONIES FROM VARIOUS ACCOUNTS TO VARIOUS <br />ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading July 27, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The <br />motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 71 -81 A BILL APPROPRIATING $26,180.00 FROM THE YOUTH SERVICE <br />BUREAU FUND FOR OPERATING FUNDS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE <br />YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, IN. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading July 27, and refer it to the Personnel & Finance <br />Committee, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Pat Miller, 2213 Lincoln Way West, indicated she had a few suggestions where the City <br />can save money. She indicated the City could save money by eliminating uniforms for <br />all city employees, and eliminating the school crossing guards. <br />Dominic DaCosta, 754 Cottage Grove, asked the Personnel & Finance Committee if they <br />have considered the City's position if the bond issue fails. <br />Michael McFarland, 1733 N. O'Brien, spoke regarding the contract for computer services <br />with School City. He indicated the School Corporation's primary duty is education and <br />not a computer center. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Council Member Serge asked that a letter be written to the Park Department asking them <br />to cleanup Pinhook Lagoon. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council <br />Member Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Crone.
