I Z" REGULAR MEETING JULY 13, 1981 RESOLUTION NO. 892 -81 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING THE AWARD OF THREE CONTRACTS IN EXCESS OF $10,000.00 FOR THE REHABILITATION WORK IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THROUGH THE BUREAU OF HOUS- ING'S REHABILITATION GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, low bids for the rehabilitation work under the Community Development Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program have exceeded $10,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: 1. That approval be granted to the Redevelopment Commission of the City of South Bend, Indiana, to enter into a contract with the following contractors for the rehabilitation work on the following properties: 818 S. Fellows 997 575.00 DOLLAR AMOUNT REHABILITATION CONTRACTOR 688.00 ADDRESS OF CONTRACT NUMBER Wilton Construction Co. 1201 E. Miner $10,388.00 CD6 /PR /CS -3/20 Jurtin Construction Co. 1204 W. Thomas $10,882.00 CD6 /PR /CS -3/22 Charles Brown Maint. Co. 912 W. Oak $11,000.00 CD6 /PR /CS -3/24 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its doption by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana. /s/ Lewis A. McGann Member of the Common Council A public hearing was held on the resolution at this time. Kathryn Baumgartner, Director of the Bureau of Housing, indicated that Council approval was necessary in order to rehabilitate these three homes. Council Member Serge made a motion to adopt this resolution, seconded by Council Member Beck. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. RESOLUTION NO. 893 -81 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND APPROVING THE ACQUISITION BY THE DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT OF CERTAIN CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MONROE - SAMPLE PROJECT AREA. WHEREAS, the City of South Bend acting by and through its Board of Public Works has approved the acquisition by the Department of Redevelopment of certain city -owned properties located in the Monroe - Sample area for the development of such area; and WHEREAS, the Department of Redevelopment has submitted offers to the Board of Public Works for acquisition of the properties at the fair market values established by the Redevelopment Department, in accordance with Indiana Statutes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: ` SECTION 1.
