Pipe Markers: As required by City of South Bend Water. <br />B. Steel Rods, Bolt, Lugs, and Brackets: <br /> <br />1. Comply with ASTM A36/A36M or A307. <br />2. Grade A carbon steel. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Section 01 70 00 - Execution and Closeout Requirements: Requirements for installation <br />examination. <br />B. Verify that existing utility water main size, location, and invert are as indicated on Drawings. <br />3.2 PREPARATION <br />A. Section 01 70 00 - Execution and Closeout Requirements: Requirements for installation <br />preparation. <br />B. Remove large stones or other hard matter capable of damaging pipe or of impeding consistent <br />backfilling or compaction. <br />C. Preconstruction Site Photos: <br /> <br />1. As specified in Section 01 38 00 Preconstruction Audio-Video Documentation. <br />D. Pipe Cutting: <br /> <br />1. Cut pipe ends square, ream pipe and tube ends to full pipe diameter, and remove burrs. <br />2. Use only equipment specifically designed for pipe cutting; use of chisels or hand saws is <br />not permitted. <br />3. Grind edges smooth with beveled end for push-on connections. <br />E. Remove scale and dirt on inside and outside before assembly. <br />3.3 PIPE HANDLING <br />A. Section 01 70 00 - Execution and Closeout Requirements: Requirements for installation <br />examination. <br />B. Prior to installation, each pipe length shall be carefully inspected for damage. <br />C. All pipe, fittings, and appurtenances shall be thoroughly cleaned before installation and shall be <br />kept clean until installation and backfilling has been completed.
