REGULAR MEETING <br />i <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Craig Hartzer, Deputy Mayor, <br />made the presentation for the bill. He indicated the purpose of this bill was to <br />create the civilian position of Emergency Communications Manager with a maximum <br />annual salary of 34,500. He indicated this represents a continuation of our efforts <br />to further professionalize the dispatch operation and put more officers on the <br />street. Council Member Barcome made a motion that the minimum salary be $27,000 and <br />the maximum by $34,500, seconded by Council Member Serge. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Serge made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, <br />as amended, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 77 -86 A BILL TRANSFERRING $60,000 AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE <br />DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Don Inks, Director of <br />Community Planning made the presentation for the bill. He indicated the <br />receivership program has proven to be inefficient, and they were requesting the <br />transfer of a portion of those monies in to the Housing Rehab Fund. He indicated <br />that Code Enforcement has requested monies for the demolition of several unsafe <br />structures and some of this money will be used for that purpose. James Cronk, 702 <br />E. LaSalle, spoke against this bill. He indicated that should retain the <br />receivership program. Council Member Serge made a motion to recommend this bill to <br />the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Beck. He indicated that Bill No. 78 -86 was an <br />appropriation 1984 Traffic Signal Repair and Jefferson and Eddy streets realignment; <br />Bill No. 79 -86 was an appropriation for Edison Road improvements; Bill No. 80 -86 was <br />an appropriation for Sample Street repairs; Bill No. 81 -86 was an appropriation for <br />Crest -Manor Retention Basin, Leland Avenue repairs and Riverside Sewers; Bill No. <br />82 -86 was an appropriation for Pendle, Juniper and Douglas Rd., sewers. Joseph <br />Guenert, 3510 Corby, asked if the Pendle Sewers were a part of Clay Utilities. <br />Joseph Pluta indicated they were. Council Member Beck made a motion to recommend <br />Bill No. 78 -86 to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The <br />motion carried. Council Member Beck made a motion to recommend Bill No. 79 -86 to <br />the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to recommend Bill No. 80 -86 to the Council <br />favorable, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. Council Member <br />Braboy made a motion to recommend Bill No. 82 -86 to the Council favorable, seconded <br />by Council Member Zakrzewski.
