REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 13, 1986 <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Stanley Dudka, the petitioner, <br />made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this alley should be closed for <br />safety purposes for his children, as well as intruders. Council Member Zakrzewski <br />made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council <br />Member Beck. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council <br />Member Voorde made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council <br />Member Zakrzewski. SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7590 -86 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 1409 -1411 LINDEN AVE., IN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, <br />seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of eight <br />ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7591 -85 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE, AND <br />ESTABLISHING AN HISTORIC LANDMARK FOR PROPERTY LOCATED <br />AT 502, 504 & 508 EAST LASALLE AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />eight ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7592 -86 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED <br />PROPERTY: THE FIRST EAST -WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF HURON <br />STREET RUNNING EAST FROM WARREN STREET TO GRANT STREET <br />EXCEPTING THE INTERSECTING NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY FOR A <br />TOTAL DISTANCE OF 240 FEET. ALL BEING IN SUMMIT 2ND <br />ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, <br />INDIANA. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />eight ayes. <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />Council Member Puzzello made a motion to combine public hearing on resolutions A & <br />B, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1391 -86 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS 903 S. MAIN STREET AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION <br />AREA FOR PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement consideration has been filed <br />with the Common Council of the City of South Bend, requesting that the area commonly <br />known as 903 S. Main, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly described <br />by a line drawn as follows: <br />Lots 27, 28, 29, and 30 in the recorded plat of South Bend City Addition as <br />recorded in the records of St. Joseph County, Indiana, EXCEPTING: The South <br />10.00 feet of Lot #30. ALSO: The East half of a vacated alley lying West of <br />and adjacent to said parcel. <br />be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of Indiana <br />Code 6- 1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq.; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an investigation and <br />prepared a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to determine <br />that the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code <br />6- 1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq., and has further prepared maps and plats showing the <br />boundaries and such other information as required by law of the area in questions; <br />and <br />
