Introduction <br />13 <br />The group of build- <br />ings was considered <br />a representative re- <br />cord of commercial <br />development from <br />1910 to 1930. <br />Despite its inclusion <br />in the National Reg- <br />ister of Historic Plac- <br />es, the vacant and <br />underutilized con- <br />dition of the city’s <br />gateway buildings <br />persisted through- <br />out the years. <br />The Myer Seeberg- <br />er Building, Smith <br />Alsop Paint Store <br />Building, and the Ar- <br />gyle Hotel & Lindahl <br />Brothers Building, <br />demolished in 2019, <br />were better known <br />as the Fat Daddy’s <br />trio buildings.
