He apologized for not asking questions before voting on the
items.
Attorney Schmidt advised that 7.K.: Concrete Replacement Agreement with Ziolkowski
Construction Inc. memorializes an agreement where Ziolkowski Construction Inc. is replacing
some concrete slabs over at Seitz Park. There are no dollars exchanged as a result of this.
Attorney Schmidt Advised that 7.J.: MOU with the South Bend Community Tennis Association,
is a collaborative effort involving various city departments and community members. An MOU
(Memorandum of Understanding) outlines the responsibilities of each party. The City, through
VPA or public works, will manage the bidding process, while a group of dedicated community
members is contributing significant funds. A key aspect of the project is to honor David Filer, a
local teen who passed away from cancer by naming the courts after him. The project aims to
transform Weaver into a state-of-the-art municipal tennis facility while commemorating a valued
community member.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, President Maradik adjourned the
meeting at 10:00 a.m.
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
06/24/2025
