<br /> <br /> ENGINEERING • ARCHITECTURE • LAND SURVEYING <br />KEY STAFF <br />6 <br />CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN <br />CHAD MARTENSEN <br />Mr. Martensen has performed construction inspection services and material <br />testing with Abonmarche on municipal and MDOT roadway construction <br />projects. Inspection services include HMA paving projects and concrete <br />replacement. Chad completes paving inspection including depth and grade <br />checks on cold milling, completing In-Place Nuclear Density Testing during HMA <br />placement, verifying HMA yield calculations and temperature checks. During <br />concrete inspection, Mr. Martensen checks forms and elevations on curb and <br />gutter, sidewalk ramp construction, and performs concrete material testing <br />utilizing MDOT forms 1999 and 1174. Utilizing FieldBook software on his IDR’s, Chad <br />reports all HMA paving results, tracks and documents contract quantities and <br />tracks materials. After joining Abonmarche in 2018, Chad continues to gain <br />valuable experience that will allow him to contribute construction services for <br />numerous state and municipal clients. <br /> <br />AREAS OF EXPERTISE: <br /> <br />TRANSPORTATION <br /> <br />US-12 Cold Milling and Resurfacing, City of Saline, Washtenaw County, MI <br />Mr. Martensen completed construction technician and paving inspection <br />services on 3.67 miles on US-12. The project included cold milling and HMA <br />resurfacing, centerline and shoulder corrugations. Mr. Martensen provided <br />contractor oversight, construction inspection, traffic and safety inspection <br />measuring and documenting pay items, and performed QA material testing. <br />HMA paving inspection included collecting HMA tickets and verified yields and <br />depth checks, laying out and witnessing QC coring sampling, a preparing and <br />submitting supporting documentation. Mr. Martensen assisted the primary senior <br />field engineer on this project working completing all project documentation and <br />testing in accordance with MDOT specifications using FieldBook software for his <br />IDR. <br /> <br />2018 & 2019 Local Streets Resurfacing Project, Portage, MI <br />Mr. Martensen is completing lead inspector duties for the City Portage Local <br />Streets Resurfacing project that combined two (2) fiscal years into one <br />construction season. The project included sidewalk ramp replacement, utility <br />replacement, retaining wall construction, and placement of 16,600 tons of HMA <br />resurfacing. Mr. Martensen completed in-place density Testing on HMA <br />placement utilized a Troxler density gauge, collected HMA tickets and verified <br />yields, performed concrete QA testing standard field tests and casting of <br />concrete cylinders. On full pavement replacement sections on the project, Mr. <br />Martensen performed in-place density tests to verify compaction efforts on <br />aggregate base materials met standards and specifications. He completed all <br />documentation and testing in accordance with MDOT specifications using <br />FieldBook software for his IDR. <br /> <br />M-51 Two-course Asphalt Resurfacing Project from Indiana State Line to Chestsnut <br />Lane, Berrien County, MI <br />Mr. Martensen assisted during HMA paving inspection on M-51 during the paving <br />operations. The project included cold-milling, two-course asphalt resurfacing, <br />concrete joint and crack repairs, isolated drainage structure repairs and <br />replacement, and sidewalk.
