<br />SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
<br />CHAD KNIP, PE
<br />Chad has over 26 years of experience in design and management of civil
<br />engineering projects. He has been involved with several local and Federal Aid
<br />LPA projects that include roadway design, streetscape improvements, water and
<br />sewer design, multi-use paths, and recreational projects.
<br />
<br />Chad has prepared various Categorical Exclusions in accordance with the
<br />National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the LPA projects. His involvement
<br />with the document preparation includes evaluating the project and surroundings
<br />and sending Early Coordination packets to the appropriate agencies. A Red Flag
<br />Investigation has been performed for each of the Categorical Exclusions to
<br />identify sensitive areas to investigate in more detail. Each potential alternative for
<br />the projects are analyzed to determine a preferred alternative to investigate
<br />further. The Categorical Exclusions that Chad has performed range for CE Level 1
<br />to CE Level 4.

<br />Chad has worked with communities across northern Indiana and southwest
<br />Michigan to develop plans for trail projects. He expertly integrates the desires of the
<br />client and community and oversees trail geometry, drainage, permitting, property
<br />acquisition, and boardwalk design and prefabricated bridges. He has been lead
<br />designer, project engineer, or project manager on the following projects:
