residents of Kennedy and LaSalle Park and <br />surrounding Westside neighborhoods. <br />• Provide a path to ownership and generational <br />wealth by providing financial counseling <br />services that can provide residents with the <br />tools to grow opportunity and build wealth <br />• Increase access to resources by serving as <br />a hub of information for financial services <br />and resources in South Bend, geographically <br />located on the West Side <br />• Provide supports to address financial needs <br />and repair financial issues for residents <br />through financial counseling <br />The Financial Empowerment Center can also play <br />a key role in connecting clients, through referral <br />partnerships, to other social services to support <br />the financial stability of South Bend residents. <br />Community/City Feedback <br />Because the Financial Empowerment Blueprint <br />is a living document, the successes, challenges, <br />and lessons learned from this initial short-term <br />action plan will guide the priorities and directives <br />of future financial empowerment work. We plan to <br />engage in feedback conversations with residents <br />using the enhanced programs, City workers, and <br />community partners to continuously evaluate <br />our financial empowerment efforts and address <br />priorities for future financial empowerment work. <br />FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT BLUEPRINT 33
