SFrrrrau rvtFFmTNG APRIL 13, 1987 BILL NO. 25 -87 A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: THE FIRST EAST -WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF MISHAWAKA AVENUE, RUNNING EAST FROM 20TH STREET FOR A DISTANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 127.5 FEET IN SHANK'S 1ST ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for second reading and public hearing May 11, 1987, and refer it to the Zoning and Vacation Committee, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. BILL NO. 26 -87 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2002 MISHAWAKA AVENUE AND 914 20TH STREET, 918 20TH STREET AND 922 20TH STREET, IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. This bill had first reading. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. BILL NO. 27 -87 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 21 ENTITLED ZONING, ARTICLE 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND BY THE ADDITION OF NEW DIVISION 13 ENTITLED ACCESSORY USES. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to refer this bill to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. BILL NO. 28 -87 A BILL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE INCLUSION OF NEW ARTICLE 18 ENTITLED NEUTRAL REDISTRICTING OF COUNCILMANIC DISTRICTS. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to refer this bill to the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. BILL NO. 29 -87 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA ESTABLISHING THE SOUTH BEND HAZ -MAT FUND. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for second reading and public hearing May 11, 1987, and refer it to the Personnel and Finance and Public Safety Committees, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. BILL NO. 30 -87 A BILL APPROPRIATING $79,650.00 FROM THE DEDICATED EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE FUND TO DEFRAY EMS RELATED EXPENSES. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for second reading and public hearing May 11, 1987, and refer it to the Personnel and Finance and Public Safety Committees, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. BILL NO. 31 -87 A BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED "BUILDINGS ". This bill had first reading. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to set this bill for second reading and public hearing May 11, and refer it to the Public Works Committee, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Council Member Beck made a motion to set the next meeting on May 11, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. Council Member Voorde discussed the impending fish run on the St. Joseph River in 1988. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR Wayne Wirts, 1889 Riverside and Terrance Kinney, 1715 Hamilton, spoke regarding the proposed satellite bill. Nelson Schaffer, 6104 Gotham Dr., Irene Buss, 1326 Lincoln Way East, spoke regarding the Lincoln Way East Historic District. James Cronk, 702 E. LaSalle, indicated that since a new office building was going to be built at St. Louis and Wayne, the Park Department should move their vehicles to the Studebaker Corridor. There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council Member Beck made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Barcome.
