The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 58 -92 A BILL AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO AMEND THE <br />"AMENDED AGREEMENT OF OPERATIONS BETWEEN ST. JOSEPH COUNTY <br />HOTEL -MOTEL TAX BOARD OF MANAGERS AND SOUTH BEND CIVIC CENTER <br />BOARD OF MANAGERS AND CITY OF SOUTH BEND ". <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Coleman made a motion to suspend the <br />rules and have public hearing and third reading on this bill, seconded by Council <br />Member Puzzello. The motion carried on a roll call vote of eight ayes. This being <br />the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Slavinskas reported <br />that the Human Resources Committee had met on this bill and had no recommendation. <br />Tim Hartzer, president of the Hotel -Motel Tax Board, made the presentation for the <br />bill. He indicated bonds, in the amount of 3.3 million, will be issued in order to <br />finance certain improvements to Century Center and the Studebaker National Museum. <br />He indicated the bond issue has been approved by the Hotel -Motel Tax Board, the <br />County Commissioners, and the Civic Center Board of Manager, however, the final <br />approval needed was that of the Common Council. Council Member Slavinskas made a <br />motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Puzzello. The bill passed by a <br />roll call vote of eight ayes. <br />BILL NO. 59 -92 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />APPROVING A LEASE FOR CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS BETWEEN THE <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND THE SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to refer this <br />bill to the Human Resources Committee, and set it for public hearing and third <br />reading on July 27, seconded by Council Member Coleman. The motion carried. <br />
