South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting —April 25, 2013 WHEREAS, Don has never forgotten the public that he serves, giving unselfishly of his time for the betterment of the community with no concern for individual honor or recognition; and WHEREAS, Don has decided the time is right to pursue other endeavors including the restoration of his home and fishing on Bogart Lake and is now retiring from his position with the Department of Community Investment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment Commission hereby recognizes Donald E. Inks for his extraordinary commitment and distinguished service to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission and the City of South Bend; thanks him for the outstanding contributions he has made; and declares it will sincerely miss his diligent work and his presence at future meetings. ADOPTED at a meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held on April 25, 2013, at 1308 County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601. Ms. Jones noted that Mr. Inks has been sitting to her right for many years. Throughout those years there have been times when she was unsure of an item on the agenda. Mr. Inks would always have the answer as well as the history of the item and would explain it clearly and concisely. Mr. Varner commented on the demeanor of a person who would allow the city to assign him an e -mail address beginning with "dinks." He congratulated Mr. Inks and said the commendations were well deserved. Mr. Alford noted congratulated Mr. Inks on his decision to retire and for allowing Ms. Jones to look good all these years. Mr, Downes noted that Mr. Inks was steady hand will be missed. Mr. Downes also very much appreciated Mr. Inks wise council over the years. Mr. Stancati noted that he could will remember all of the time that he and Mr. Inks served on the Redevelopment Commission Board as well as the Board of Public Works. Mr. Inks did a great job in serving both. He said, "Thank You." Ms. Schey noted that she appreciated Mr. Inks willingness for helping her understand situations, giving history, facts, and figures in the short time she was on the City Council and the Redevelopment Commission board. You will be missed by many. Mr. Ford noted that on behalf of Redevelopment staff and the Department of Community Investment, we extend our gratitude and "Thank You" for everything you've done over your entire body of work, which is obviously extensive. Anyone should be so lucky to come into an organization and find someone of the integrity and presence that Mr. Inks has.
