South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —April 25, 2013 <br />WHEREAS, Don has never forgotten the public that he serves, giving unselfishly of his time <br />for the betterment of the community with no concern for individual honor or recognition; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Don has decided the time is right to pursue other endeavors including the <br />restoration of his home and fishing on Bogart Lake and is now retiring from his position <br />with the Department of Community Investment; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />hereby recognizes Donald E. Inks for his extraordinary commitment and distinguished <br />service to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission and the City of South Bend; thanks <br />him for the outstanding contributions he has made; and declares it will sincerely miss his <br />diligent work and his presence at future meetings. <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held on April 25, <br />2013, at 1308 County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana <br />46601. <br />Ms. Jones noted that Mr. Inks has been sitting to her right for many years. Throughout those <br />years there have been times when she was unsure of an item on the agenda. Mr. Inks would <br />always have the answer as well as the history of the item and would explain it clearly and <br />concisely. <br />Mr. Varner commented on the demeanor of a person who would allow the city to assign him <br />an e -mail address beginning with "dinks." He congratulated Mr. Inks and said the <br />commendations were well deserved. <br />Mr. Alford noted congratulated Mr. Inks on his decision to retire and for allowing Ms. Jones <br />to look good all these years. <br />Mr, Downes noted that Mr. Inks was steady hand will be missed. Mr. Downes also very <br />much appreciated Mr. Inks wise council over the years. <br />Mr. Stancati noted that he could will remember all of the time that he and Mr. Inks served <br />on the Redevelopment Commission Board as well as the Board of Public Works. Mr. Inks <br />did a great job in serving both. He said, "Thank You." <br />Ms. Schey noted that she appreciated Mr. Inks willingness for helping her understand <br />situations, giving history, facts, and figures in the short time she was on the City Council <br />and the Redevelopment Commission board. You will be missed by many. <br />Mr. Ford noted that on behalf of Redevelopment staff and the Department of Community <br />Investment, we extend our gratitude and "Thank You" for everything you've done over your <br />entire body of work, which is obviously extensive. Anyone should be so lucky to come into <br />an organization and find someone of the integrity and presence that Mr. Inks has. Mr. Ford <br />also noted that he was incredibly blessed to have spent his first year in the Community <br />12 <br />
