Cost Burden over 50% <br /> Discussion <br /> The racial composition of households in St. Joseph County, according to the 2016-2020 American <br /> Community Survey, was 80.9% White; 11.9% African American/Black; 2.2% Asian; 0.4% American <br /> Indian and Alaskan Natives; and 0.01% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander. The Hispanic or Latino <br /> population was 5.4%. In the 0%-30% and 80%-100% of Area Median Income categories, the African <br /> American/Black ethnic group has a disproportionate need in terms of severe housing problems at 29.6% <br /> and 27.1%of the total households in that income category,respectively.The Hispanic or Latino population <br /> also has a disproportionate need in terms of severe housing problems in the 80-100% of Area Median <br /> Income categories at 23.5%of total households in that category. <br /> OMB Control No:2506-0117(exp.07/31/2025) 75 <br />
