<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM <br />SKYLIGHT REPLACEMENT PROJECT COORDINATION 01040-1 <br />SECTION 01040 - PROJECT COORDINATION <br /> <br />PART 1- GENERAL <br /> <br />A. General <br /> <br />1. Related Documents: Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General <br />Conditions and Special Provisions and Division 1 specification sections, apply to this <br />section. <br /> <br />2. Work Included: <br /> <br />a. This section includes minimum administrative and supervisory requirements <br />necessary for coordination of the Project. These administrative and supervisory <br />requirements shall include, but not be limited to, the following: <br />1) Coordination. <br />2) Coordination of existing conditions. <br />3) Project meetings. <br />4) Field coordination drawings. <br />5) Administrative and supervisory personnel. <br />6) Coordination of Contract closeout. <br /> <br />3. Coordination: <br /> <br />a. The Contractor shall coordinate its construction activities with those of all <br />Subcontractors, the Owner, work under other contracts, and other entities as <br />required to insure efficient and orderly installation of the Work. The Contractor <br />shall coordinate its operations with operations included under all Sections of the <br />Specifications that are dependent on each other for proper installation, <br />connection and operation. <br />1) Where installation of one part of the Work is dependent on installation of <br />other components, either before or after its own installation, the <br />Contractor shall schedule construction activities in the sequence required <br />to obtain the best results. <br />2) The Contractor shall utilize space efficiently and coordinate installation of <br />different components to ensure maximum accessibility for required <br />maintenance, and repair. Coordinate space requirements and installation <br />of items, which are indicated diagrammatically on Drawings. The <br />contractor shall follow routing indicated for pipes, ducts and wiring as <br />closely as practicable; place runs parallel with line of building unless <br />indicated otherwise. <br />3) Unless otherwise indicated, in finished areas conceal pipes, ducts and <br />wiring within construction. Coordinate locations of plumbing fixtures, <br />electrical fixtures and electrical outlets with finish elements. <br />4) Make adequate provisions to accommodate items scheduled for later <br />installation. <br /> <br />b. Where necessary, prepare memoranda for distribution to each party involved <br />outlining special procedures required for coordination. Include required notices, <br />reports and attendance at meetings. <br /> <br />c. The Contractor shall coordinate scheduling and timing of its administrative <br />procedures to include: <br />1) Preparation of schedules. <br />2) Installation and removal of temporary facilities.
