Wall SF: 0Ceiling/Floor SF: 3 - <br />Spec Quantity Units Unit Price Total PriceSpec # <br />Trade: 219 Lead Abatement <br />LBPENC/ 150.00 SFWALL / CEILING - ENCLOSE, REPLACE or ENCAPSULATE ________________ <br />Contractor may elect to provide either (or combination thereof) <br />the following abatement methods to abate hazards. Contractor <br />must notify Project Manager of the methods to be utilized to <br />ensure they will be effective. Most effective by application and <br />cost methods should be utilized. The options are: <br />Enclose: <br />After establishing any required floor containment with <br />polythylene sheeting, wet mist, remove, wrap in polyethylene <br />sheeting and dispose of any lead-based paint moldings. Mark <br />"Lead Paint" at 4' intervals on wall/ceiling. Hang, tape and three <br />coat finish 1/4" or 1/2" gypsum over surface using screws 8" on <br />center and adhesive beads 16" on center. Run gypsum <br />horizontally. Caulk all penetrations and butt seams at casing <br />and base molding with siliconized acrylic, as applicable. Install <br />3/8" ogee at baseboard. Prime with gypsum primer and apply a <br />premium acrylic latex top coat. HEPA vacuum any visible paint <br />chips, dust and debris. <br />Replacement: <br />Establish a polyethylene sheeting lined walk to truck or <br />dumpster. Wet mist, wrap in polyethylene sheeting and remove <br />wall or ceiling in pieces that are as large as practical while <br />protecting the floor containment with a piece of plywood. Mist <br />small debris with water. Wrap all debris, as appropriate, in <br />polyethylene sheeting. Transport debris to dumpster in sealed <br />containers or by means of a sealed chute to a covered <br />dumpster. HEPA vacuum any visible paint chips, dust and <br />debris. Hang, tape and 3 coat finish 1/2" drywall. Apply a 3/8" <br />bead of low VOC drywall adhesive to each framing member and <br />install using drywall screws min. 1 5/8 long, 8"on center. Run <br />boards with long dimension perpendicular to framing members. <br />Sand ready for paint, prime and paint with one coat of low VOC <br />latex paint, owner selection. <br />Encapsulate: <br />After establishing any required floor containment with <br />polyethylene sheeting, prepare surface by degreasing and <br />deglossing. Apply any recommended primer and roll out a <br />liquid, polymer, elastomeric encapsulant with manufacturer's <br />specifications. Product must be pre-approved prior to <br />installation. Use the required number of coats and coverage <br />rate of encapsulant to guarantee a minimum 20-year <br />manufacturer's warranty.
