The services of a factory authorized service representative shall be provided to <br />supervise, inspect and provide operator training as required for initial start-up <br />and system operation. <br />2. Provide reinspection of system operation and function, through a factory <br />authorized service representative, to be conducted six months and twelve months <br />after project completion. <br />3. Provide a Water-Hardness Testing Set: Manufacturer's standard testing apparatus <br />and chemicals with testing procedure instructions and metal container suitable <br />for wall mounting. <br />G. INSTRUCTIONS AND START UP <br />1. Provide necessary time to start up equipment and explain operation to owner. <br />2. Provide 3 sets of O & M manuals. Submit full and complete drawings of the <br />installation <br />3. Equipment shall be left when accepted by the Owner, with fresh charge of brine <br />and mineral reactivated. The Contractor shall instruct operating personnel in the <br />correct procedure for best operation <br />H. GUARANTEES <br />1. Attrition loss of mineral shall be guaranteed not to exceed 3% per year for a <br />period of three (3) years. <br />2. The manufacturer guarantees that, under actual operating conditions, the mineral <br />shall not be washed out of the system during the service run or backwashing <br />period; and that the turbidity and color of the effluent, by reason of passing <br />through the softener system, shall not be greater than the incoming water; and <br />that the underdrain system, gravel and minerals shall not become fouled, either <br />with turbidity or by dirt, rust or scale from the softening system while operating <br />as noted in the manufacturer’s instructions. <br />3.
