B. Provide slide type supports where only lateral control is required. <br />PART 3: EXECUTION <br />3.1 SUPPORT <br />A. Spacing for hangers on plastic piping shall be in accordance with manufacturer's <br />recommendations based on maximum system temperature plus ten (10) degrees. <br />C. Where hangers or shields come in contact with non-ferrous metallic piping, provide <br />plastic or rubber pipe guides or plastic or copper coated pipe components for portion in <br />contact with piping. <br />D. Support vertical piping at every floor level or at least every twenty-five feet (25') by <br />heavy iron extension pipe clamps having bolts on each side and ends having equal <br />bearing on structure. Support base of vertical piping by hanger placed on horizontal <br />branch close to riser or base fitting set on foundation. Provide intermediate iron or <br />plastic supports as required for smaller piping and rough-ins to prevent sagging and <br />vibration. <br />E. Support piping independently at all pumps, tanks and all other equipment so that <br />equipment is not stressed by piping weight or expansion. <br />F. Supports of wire, rope, wood, chain, strap, perforated bar, or any other makeshift device <br />are not permitted. <br />G. Contractor shall be responsible for proper location of all concrete inserts and anchor <br />rods. <br />15140 - 2
