L
Zoning and Annei.ation Committee
December 9. NO2
Page 2
Council Member White questioned changes to the site plan. Mr. Myers stated that they would not
be major.
Council Member Coleman inquired about potential pitfalls if the rezoning is granted, and noted that
the building was originally a residence. Mr. Myers stated that the property is currently zoned
commercial now and believes that the request would provide a"good blend".
Mr. Fozo, Building Commissioner, stated that the Board of Zoning Appeals gave a favorable
recommendation on November 21, 2002. A special use would be maintained on that property.
Mr. Fozo stated that a minor future change in use would be addressed by the staff, whereas a
major change in the future would be addressed by the Area Plan Commission and the Common
Council. With the variance being granted there would be four(4) parking spaces required.
Following discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that Bill
No. 73-02 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
Council Member White then called for a presentatio n on Substitute Bill No. 78-02 which is a
rezoning request for the properties located at 306 S. Notre Dame and 910 E. Waste and 916 E.
Wayne.
Mr. Myers stated that the Bill received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan
Commission at its November 19,2002 meeting (copy attached).
Patrick J. McGraw, the petitioner, made the presentation. He stated that the buildings are used for
offices currently and the rezoning would turn them into residences.
Following discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that
substitute Bill No. 78-02 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
Under miscellaneous business, Council Member White inquired about the best time for a"meet and
greet with NRTSC". It was suggested that the meeting be held in February.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member White adjourned
the meeting at 4:13 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member Karen L.
