Nominating Committee <br />Mrs. DeLaruelle reported she contacted the present officers of the <br />Commission and they agreed to stay on in their present capacities <br />with the exception of Mr. Hayes as secretary. Mr. Herendeen <br />agreed to accept the position of secretary for 1988. <br />7. Old Business <br />No Report <br />S. New Business <br />a. Elections <br />Mr. Nimtz moved the nominations be closed and the secretary cast <br />the ballots for the nominees; Mrs. Petrass seconded; motion <br />passed. <br />b. Committee Assignments <br />Mrs. Sport eder• announced committee assignments: Executive <br />Committee, John Oxian, Odell Newbur•n, Herb Herendeen and Joann <br />Sporleder•; District Committee, Martha Choitz, John Oxian, Gina <br />DeLaruelle, Ja.neanne Petrass.; Landmark. Committee, John Oxian, Gina <br />DeLaruelle, Charles Hayes; Budget and Finance Committee, John <br />Oxian, Odell Newburn, Ca third member is. needed); Legal Committee, <br />F.J. Nimtz, Janeanne Petr•as.s., Joann Sporleder•, and John Oxian; <br />Public Relations Committee, Herb Herendeen, Janeanne Petrass, <br />Martha Choitz, Charles Hayes.. Mrs. Spor•leder stated that the <br />Environmental Impact Committee will continue to be revolving <br />unless there are objections. <br />C. Hoosier Celebration <br />Mr. Poland stated the Hoosier Celebration will take place during <br />1988 and that the local committee has met and requests that the <br />Council Oak and the Navarre Cabin be granted honorary landmark <br />status.. Mr. Poland presented several questions that needed to be <br />resolved prior to designation Mr. Nimtz moved to have staff <br />proceed with the resolution of these designations and to report <br />back to the Commission with their findings.; Mr. Nek,.tburn seconded; <br />motion passed. <br />e. Hometown Indiana <br />Ms.. Jentoft-Nilsen presented a draft to support a bi l 1 for the <br />Hometown Indiana Grant Resolution for review by the Commission. <br />Ms. Jentoft-Nilsen also stated that she and Mr. Oxian sent a <br />letter of support of the bill to state legislators. Mr. Oxian <br />moved to approve sending a general resolution of support for• the <br />Hometown Indiana Grant bill to the Senate and House; Mr. Net,tburn <br />seconded; motion passed (appendix C). <br />January 25, 1988 PAGE 4 <br />
