Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />Public Works and Property Vacation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third <br />Reading on April 28, 2008. Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to <br />the Personnel & Finance Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on <br />May 12, 2008. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice <br />vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 23-08 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, ANNEXING TO AND <br /> BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LAND IN <br /> GERMAN TOWNSHIP, CONTIGUOUS <br /> THEREWITH; COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT 1, <br /> WAGGONER FARM DEVELOPMENT, L.P. <br /> 51270 MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA <br /> <br />Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning and Annexation <br />Committee and set if for Public Hearing on June 9, 2008 and Third Reading on June 23, <br />2008. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine <br />(9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />There was no unfinished business to come before the Council at this time. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Councilmember Kirsits reported that the Council on the Community/Campus Advisory <br />Coalition met on April 10, 2008. He noted that they have achieved a mission statement <br />and will give their report to the Council in June. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kirsits advised that he attending a meeting at the Charles Martin Youth <br />Center regarding “Underage Drinking.” He stated that the panel talked about breaking <br />the cycle of underage drinking. He commended Tom Walker a student at John Adams <br />High School who made a great presentation. He noted that Mr. Walker is a member of <br />the Youth Council, who is mentored by Councilmember Karen White. <br /> 18 <br /> <br />
